For example: The famous UNESCO world heritage site "Pamukkale". On the first glace, it seems to be a glaciar, although when you look closer, you can see that it's a calciumcarbonate structure which has formed for many tousand years. The water, which storms out is warm.

You are only allowed to enter the site on barefoot. The structure of the crystal makes it quite painful to walk over.

Oberhalb vo de Kalkterasse finde mir e archäologischi Stätte vor antike griechische Stadt Hierapolis. D Ruine si teilwys sehr guet erhalte u gäbe e Iblick wie beeidruckend s hie mau muess usgseh ha. 

Above the naturally formed tavertines we found the ancient city of Hierapolis. The ruins are in superb condition. You can only imagine how it must have looked like in it's glorious days.

Ther are many checkpoints in turkey, which are governed by the police or janarma. Mostly, they just smile at us and let us pass, as soon as our foreign number plates are seen.Once we have been stopped by two janarma fellows. They could speak as much English as we could Turkish. After a moment, the older fellow said "Welcome Turkey". After they mumered some words to each other, they smiled broadly. The older guy then offered me his fist to bump and suddenly said "Let's go", which meant that we could pass. At another point of time, a policeman nearly got into our car to cuddle with Freddy. Turkish people really like Freddy. Everytime we have to fill up our tank, the tank attendant always want to play with Freddy.

D Natur ir Türkei isch sehr vielfältig. Scho uf dr Reis vo Istanbul nach Antalya merke mir wie gross das ganze Land isch und dür wie viu Klimazone und verschiedeni Gebiet mir fahre. Z Biud unde isch im Köprülü Kanyon Nationalpark entstande.

The natural surrounding in Tueky is very diverse. On our way from Istanbul to Antalya, we cold see how big and how different the countryside can be with different climate zones. The photo below shows the Köprülü Canyon national park.

Sheperds with huge herds of sheep, goats and cows can be seen all around, in every region of Turkey. The sheperds are garantied to have a friendly smile and are always happy when we greet them from the car.

Many Turks can speak German and occasionally even a bit of Swiss-German. Many of them spent a time working in Switzerland or Germany. We camped at the place in the forest on the photo below after a day with heavy rain, desperate to find a suitabl place to camp. On the next morning, a very friendly guy with a cahinsaw walked by us. As always the locals are very interested in us. After he found out that we are Swiss, he suddenly spoke flawless German. He told us that the forest section belongs to him and that we can stay as long as we like. Afterwards he showd us every plants and flowers and what can be used and eaten, which was very interesting. We knew nothing about those plants, but they were delicious.

Sometimes we have to let a turtle cross the road and recently a donkey. The donkey sprinted on road very suddenly and it was very close.

We had a lucky hand on fishing. In a beautiful mountain stream, Tawan caught a rainbow trout for the first time. Two of them have served for a delicious dinner.

Once we camped on the Mavikent beach at the meditarranean sea with our friends Lisa and David.

Zwüsche üsne Campers gseht dir o gad d "Strass" wo Momo id Garage gschickt het. Eigentlich hei mir ja üses schöne und flache Plätzli scho gfunde gha. S isch aber när d Neugier ufcho, öb Momo dä Hoger würdi chönne ufefahre. Leider hets im töifschte Gang vor Untersetzig nid ganz bis ufe glängt. Öppe zwöi Meter vorem höchschte Punkt hei d Redli afa spuele. I säge "leider" nid wüus grundsätzlich nid glängt het, sondern wüus FASCH glängt het. Das het im Fahrer dr Ehrgiz gweckt und d Hoffnig isch da gsi, dass d Redli nach chli Spuele wieder Halt finde us de doch no ufe längt. Es wyters Leider: dr Motor vom Momo isch so starch dass sich z ganze Outo i däm letschte Astieg vo 50° (120%) het möge haute, sogar wo dr Tawan het ufgäh und vom Gaspedal drab isch, eigentlich für dr Motor zum Abstelle z zwinge. Plötzlich gits e lute Knall vor hintere Achs. Irgendwie heis de Fahrer und Outo wieder obe abe gschafft. Wo z Outo dunde isch, isch klar, dass öppis kaputt gange isch. Nachdäm mir üs chli hei chönne sammle und analysiere was gnau kaputt isch, isch dr Verdacht da, dass im hintere Getriebe zwöi Zahnräder kaputt gange si. Mit chli recherchiere wird klar, dass das e Schwachstell vo üsem Outo isch, mä findt unzähligi Brichte. Klar wird o dass das öppis isch wo mir nid säuber wärde chönne flicke. Momo muess id Garage. Die nächschti passendi Garage isch aber in Antalya, 120 km wyt wäg vo hie. O we Momo im 2-Rad-Atrieb no 30 km/h cha fahre isches entlang vor türkische Houptstrass fasch unmüglich dass mir dert säuber häre chöme. Auso mäude mir üs bim TCS, wo mir e wältwyte Schutzbrief hei. D Organisation vom Abschleppe isch sehr ribigslos verloffe. 

Between our campers, you can see the path that led Momo to a visit at the mechanics. After we found a peaceful and flat place to camp, we were curious, whether Momo could climb the hill. Momo never had to stop at any obstacle before so it was worth the shot. What's the worst that could happen? The only rule is that the climb has to be at a slow pace, so that the car can always stay in control. Two meters before the hill ended, the climb was too steep, so that all wheel spun with difflock in place. The steepest part was a short segment with 50° angle (120% climb). The motor of the car is too strong on the loose ground to let the car stall, so the car didnt want to stall. After a while a sound like a gunshot could be heard. Somehow the car and the driver made it back down in reverse. Sometthing was wrong with the car. After lifting the rear wheels it was clear that the drive shaft and the rear differential were disconnected mechanically (pinion and crown). After a quick research on the internet you could see that it's the weakest link in our transmission. It can not be repaired on the spot. The nearest suitable garage was 120km away in Antalya. Even though Momo could be driven in front-wheel drive with 30 kph, we didn't want to do it on a turkish road into a big city like Antalya. So we called TCS who professionally organized us a road side assistance.

Ir Garage het sich dr Verdacht bestätiget. Und innerhalb vo 5 Stund isch das ganze o wieder repariert gsi. Derwile heimer türkische Tee und es feins Zmittag gnosse.

After the rear differential was taken out we could confirm our presumption. After only 5 hours, the whole thing was replaced, while we enjoyed turkish tee and lunch.

Froh, dass aues wieder funktioniert simer de zur Feier des Tages nomau ad Mavikent Beach und hei die öffentlichi Duschi und die schöni Umgäbig gnosse, aber dises mau simer schön ufem flache Bereich blibe.

We were glad that everything worked out fine, so we revisited Mavikent beach and enjoyed the beach shower and beautiful surroundings. Although this time we stayed on the flat ground.
